Built for Enterprise Fire & Life Safety Compliance

With thousands of monthly inspections, multiple facilities, and fire and life safety assets that require ongoing documentation, Stellantis needed a better way to manage compliance without relying on printed forms and Excel spreadsheets.

By digitizing inspections, data collection, and reporting with InspectNTrack, the Chrysler Technology Center reduced the time spent on these processes from approximately 783.75 hours per month to 127.45 hours — saving 656.30 hours every month at a single facility.

InspectNTrack is now being used at 10 additional Stellantis sites, giving the company a scalable way to standardize inspection processes, improve visibility, and manage compliance across its growing network.

The Challenge

After years of relying on Excel spreadsheets to collect inspection data, Stellantis could no longer deny the harsh reality: this system was costing them an unreasonable amount of time and money.

For those on site at manufacturing plants, tracking inspections of fire and life safety assets can already feel like an unnecessarily time-consuming task. Inspectors must print out paperwork, go into the field to fill out forms, and then manually enter collected data into Excel spreadsheets.

Additionally, the onus is also on them to stay on top of each asset’s individual inspection schedule.

Excel spreadsheets weren’t just problematic for field users, either; Jacob, Stellantis’ fire compliance manager, found that he had a very limited ability to understand the happenings of sites he wasn’t physically on. As would be expected, this made verifying compliance—the crux of his job—extremely difficult!

Compiling reports from spreadsheet data was also a complicated and lengthy process.

Our Solution

Now that the problem was acknowledged, however, something needed to be done about it. A quick Google search introduced Jacob to a number of inspection software options, but only one sounded like it would address all of his needs: InspectNTrack.

InspectNTrack was uniquely suited to helping Stellantis realize its company goals. Always on the lookout for new ways to adapt to the ever-changing world, Stellantis saw digitizing inspection processes with InspectNTrack as the perfect way to modernize. Stellantis also greatly values accountability, which InspectNTrack facilitates by timestamping each action, as well as linking them to specific users. Implementation of InspectNTrack began at the Chrysler Technology Center, or CTC.

As both Stellantis’ headquarters and main research and design facility, the CTC is not just the largest site in the company, but one of the largest buildings in the United States! Jacob and InspectNTrack’s team worked together to organize assets and sites and to design inspection questions until Jacob was completely satisfied with software’s configuration. Then, workers at the CTC began implementing InspectNTrack, familiarizing themselves with the process of conducting inspections and running reports from a singular app.

Currently, the roll out of InspectNTrack at Stellantis sites is still in phase one (primarily at Midwest manufacturing plants). However, InspectNTrack’s scaling capabilities and language localization features ensure Stellantis can continue expanding use to not just other types of sites, such as proving grounds and facilities for research and development, but other countries as well.

What Separates InspectNTrack From the Crowd

Stellantis needed more than an electronic replacement for its spreadsheets. It needed a system that could support standardized inspection processes across facilities while still accommodating the needs of individual sites.

InspectNTrack gives organizations the ability to configure inspection workflows, assets, questions, users, and reporting around their actual compliance programs.

Once an inspection process has been established, templates can be copied and shared across locations, helping Stellantis create a more consistent corporate approach to fire and life safety compliance.

That combination of configuration and scalability allows the platform to support individual facilities today while providing the infrastructure for a broader enterprise rollout.

Key Features of InspectNTrack

Data aggregation, analysis, and reporting look the same across all sites, allowing for expedition of the data interpretation and decision-making processes.
Dashboards display key metrics, eliminating the need to pester site managers for the most recent data via phone calls or emails.
Access to statistics and overall progress reports is available without even having to log on to InspectNTrack.
Once one site is setup, they all are! Inspection templates can easily be copied, shared, and linked to each other across the entire company.

The Impact

Overall, the team at Stellantis has described working with InspectNTrack has an extremely positive experience—unsurprising, considering using InspectNTrack has saved Stellantis over 600 hours of work each month at the CTC alone!

For Jacob specifically, InspectNTrack has reduced the amount of time spent on monthly report compilation from about 280 hours to less than one. He testifies that “using InspectNTrack ismuch more efficient than using printed Excel spreadsheets to conduct inspections.” Now, insteadof “spending hours going through each piece of paper looking for discrepancies,” he can generate reports in mere seconds.
