A table of all equipment sub-categories can be viewed on the Manage SubCat screen. This is access from the Admin page at Manage Subtables –> Manage SubCat. Administrator permissions are required to access this screen.
New sub-categories can be created by simply typing them into the sub-category field when creating new equipment types, it is not required to add them on this screen. The main purpose of the Manage SubCat screen is to view, export, and delete sub-categories.
A sub-category can only be deleted if it is not being used and does not have any associated records in the system. The “Assigned?” column shows whether the sub-category is being used. If Assigned = No, a sub-category can be deleted by checking the box to the left of the sub-category name and pressing delete at the top of the screen.
