Our Commitment
InspectNTrack was purpose-built to facilitate safety and compliance with best-in-class digital tools for managing asset inspections, maintenance, and testing.
As the original pioneer in barcode driven fire and life safety inspection software, InspectNTrack’s core features have been developed over the past 40+ years to meet the needs of safety professionals. Although we primarily focus on fire & life safety equipment inspections, the program is equally effective at managing custom asset categories, security rounds, fire watch, and more.
Collaboration with tenured safety professionals ensures that the features of this program are well thought out and meet the specific requirements of an NFPA and OSHA compliant program. We’re confident that you’ll notice the distinction resulting from this style of development and love our product!
Originally branded as TISCOR, the software has been redeveloped 5 times over 4 decades to keep up with the ever-changing technology front and ensure safe and secure operations. Take a look at our rich history below.
Our History
InspectNTrack’s core features have been developed over the past 40+ years specifically to meet the needs of fire protection and safety professionals.
1980’s
TISCOR Protrac
After convening a group of fire safety professionals to learn about their inspection pain points, TISCOR Protrac was developed to provide cutting-edge automation for inspections. Assets were barcoded and inspections were recorded with a date & time stamp by running a crystal tip wand scanner across the barcode. Incident barcodes could be scanned following the equipment barcode to notate failed inspections.
1990’s
TISCOR Taskmaster
Protrac users uncovered a major roadblock when using the software for fire extinguisher inspections: they were scanning barcodes placed at locations and if a fire extinguisher was moved or swapped they were unknowingly recording the inspection against the wrong extinguisher. To overcome this, the software was rewritten and renamed TISCOR Taskmaster. Movable equipment technology was developed and patented. It required a location barcode and an equipment barcode for each inspection so the software could verify and update equipment locations when moved. The Symbol PDT-3100 with 16 MB of RAM was used to download basic route information and display information about the checkpoint scans.
2005
TISCOR Facility Manager
Although it was proven invaluable for managing fire extinguishers, users found location scanning to be redundant and inefficient for fixed equipment inspections. The software was reprogrammed so that equipment could be designated as moveable OR fixed and was renamed TISCOR Facility Manager. A Microsoft Pocket PC app was released along with a variety of new hardware options including the Symbol Dolphin with 64 MB of RAM for more memory and an intrinsically safe option.
2013
TISCOR InspectNTrack
With solid features and functionality firmly established, the focus moved to new innovations in the software marketplace. The name was changed to InspectNTrack and the software became available as a cloud hosted platform with improved user interface. This offered substantial benefits including eliminating the need for company-owned servers and IT assistance with installation and updates. A new mobile app was offered that worked with Janam, Motorola, and Honeywell devices utilizing the Pocket PC platform.
2019
And Beyond
As technology continues to advance at lightning speeds, InspectNTrack development keeps pace. 2019 saw the depreciation of the Pocket PC mobile operating platform so the mobile app was rewritten for Android, iOS, and Windows 10+ platforms. Mobile computing integrations with Zebra Technologies, Bartec, and iSafe Mobile ensure suitable hardware options and the introduction of a camera scanner offers no hardware investment opportunities. Single sign-on and FIPS compliant encryption offer necessary security protection to users.
At InspectNTrack, our commitments remains to stay on the forefront of technology and continue to bring you the best fire and life safety inspection software on the market.
