A New Mobile Experience Is Coming to InspectNTrack

Over the past year, our team has been developing an all-new InspectNTrack mobile app designed to provide a smoother, more intuitive experience for the people who use InspectNTrack in the field every day.

Our primary goal was simple: make InspectNTrack easier and more intuitive to use without changing the inspection workflows our customers already know.

The general flow of completing inspections remains familiar. However, you will notice updated navigation, a cleaner interface, and easier access to features that were previously located within menus or settings screens.

We have also incorporated new capabilities requested by our customers and created a foundation that will allow us to introduce additional mobile features more quickly in the future.

The new app will be released in October 23, 2026

Video Overvews

Our videos provide guided tours of the new InspectNTrack mobile interface. After watching the video, most existing InspectNTrack users should be able to begin using the new app with very little additional training.

Route Based Inspections

This reviews the Route based inspection process including the home screen, navigation, assignments, inspection screens, and the location of commonly used tools.

Quick Inspect

This includes Auto Move, Auto Update, and Roam. The new Quick Inspect experience has been redesigned to reduce steps while keeping the inspection process familiar.

Manual Visits

The Manual Visit button has been removed. Taping on a checkpoint will open it in preview mode, and the app will prompt for a manual visit when needed.

Settings & Support

Review all the features, settings, and display options included in the Settings menu. This will customize your in-app experience and ensure important features are enabled.

What is Changing?

While the new app will look different, many of the workflows you use today remain the same.

The biggest changes are designed to reduce the number of taps required to perform common tasks and make important features easier to find.

Feature Current Mobile App New Mobile App
Home Screen Currently there is no home screen. Begin inspection navigates directly to the Route selection screens. A new welcome screen allows users to select from different workflows, and includes a menu for switching assignments, settings, and support.
Manual Visits Press “Manual Visit” on the Location screen prior to opening a checkpoint. Simply tap a checkpoint to open it. The app will prompt you to confirm a manual visit when it is required.
Auto Update Accessed as a separate feature via the Settings screen. No visibility to scanned checkpoints. Access is moved to the Welcome Screen via the new Quick Inspect module. A list now compiles of all scanned checkpoints for easy auditing.
Auto Move & Roam Accessed as separate features via the Settings screen. Access is moved to the Welcome Screen via the new Quick Inspect module.
Image Capture Accessed from the hamburger menu on the Location or Equipment Details Screen. Accessed from the question screen. Images are now printed on reports inline with the questions, and associated to specific tasks for better report filtering.
Feature Access All features and workflows are located within the hamburger menu. A toolbar includes sync, scan, and home buttons. A + button is used for adding new records, incidents, and discrepancies.
Editing Tasks Editing of a completed task is not allowed. Within the active Tour, completed tasks can be opened and edited without causing duplicate tasks to record.

Frequently Asked Questions

The existing InspectNTrack mobile app is approximately seven years old. During that time, mobile technology, operating systems, development frameworks, and user interface standards have changed significantly.

Building a new application allows us to provide a more modern user experience while creating a stronger technical foundation for future development.

The fundamental InspectNTrack inspection process remains the same.

You will still access your inspection work, identify or scan equipment and locations, complete the required inspection, document discrepancies when necessary, and submit your results.

Some buttons, tools, and navigation options have moved to make them easier to access.

Most existing users should be able to begin using the new application with minimal training.

We recommend watching the navigation and Quick Inspect videos on this page before using the new app. We are also offering live drop-in training webinars for anyone who would like a more detailed walkthrough. Our 24/7 Knowledge Base includes detailed, searchable documentation about how to use the app.

Yes. The new mobile application works with your existing InspectNTrack system. Your equipment, locations, inspection schedules, assignments, users, checklists, and inspection information remain part of your InspectNTrack account and download right into the new app.

Yes. Existing equipment IDs, barcodes, QR codes, and supported tag-based workflows will continue to work with the new mobile application.

Yes. In addition to redesigning the interface and navigation, we have added new capabilities based on customer feedback.

The new application was also designed to make it easier for us to introduce additional features in future releases.

One of our objectives was to make frequently used functions easier to find.

Over the years, some capabilities were added to menus or settings screens because of the structure of the original application. During the redesign, we reevaluated where those functions belonged and moved several of them closer to the workflows where users actually need them.

The old app will continue to work, but it will be removed from all app stores when the new app is released. If your mobile device is set to automatically update installed apps, the new app will replace the old one right away. If you update your apps manually, you can install the update when you are ready.

The new app was designed to make your job easier and more efficient. If you find it to be harder to use or less efficient, please contact us. We are always open to customer feedback and will continue to update the app.

Yes. InspectNTrack will continue to support mobile inspection workflows in environments where an internet connection is unavailable, subject to the same synchronization requirements associated with offline operation.

All currently supported mobile devices and scanners will continue to work, but Bluetooth scanners may need to be reprogrammed and/or connected to the new app. Instructions for pairing scanners is available on the Knowledge Base.

We have also added support for Socket Mobile scanners on Android and for the Windows Dell Latitude Rugged Extreme Tablet.

**Please note that older devices may not perform well. The new app offers advanced image capture capabilities which requires robust mobile processing chips found in modern mobile devices.**

Built for the Next Generation of InspectNTrack

The new mobile app is more than a visual redesign.

It represents a new foundation for the InspectNTrack mobile platform—one that allows us to improve the inspection experience today while making it easier to deliver the capabilities our customers are asking for tomorrow.

We appreciate the feedback our customers have provided throughout the development process, and we look forward to putting the new InspectNTrack mobile experience in your hands.
